This is a time lapse taken over two days. Leaving Cordova, Alaska on the Alaska Marine Highway (ferry) And then driving to Anchorage, Alaska to get supplies for Harborside Pizza. After Filling the van we make the return trip. Jam packed full of scenic views and bad weather.

Eat pizza + support students = WIN!

pizza palloza 2013

Pizzapolooza is an annual fundraiser that benefits Cordova high school students participating in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl. From now until the week before Christmas, students will be selling coupons for cheese, pepperoni or standard deluxe pizzas at Harborside  Pizza; proceeds go towards travel funds for NOSB students to get to the Tsunami Bowl in Seward at the end of February 2014. Pizzapolooza coupons can be redeemed at Harborside between January 1 – May 31, 2014.

The Prince William Sound Science Center has been coaching Cordova NOSB teams since 2001 in this voluntary, academic competition about marine science. Student teams complete a 20-page research paper, give a 20-minute presentation at the competition, and compete against 19 other teams from around the state of Alaska at the annual Tsunami Bowl. Cordova’s teams have medaled 6 times over the years and many of the students have pursued science, technology, engineering and math fields.

PS, Pizzapolooza coupons make great stocking stuffers!!!!
