Summer in Full Swing

Whoa, how did it get to be July already?!  They do say time flies when you’re having fun.  We’ve had an amazing Spring and a great Summer so far, thanks to all of our amazing customers who have visited us from near and far; we’re so glad to serve you! Our experience in our new facility over the last 9 months has exceeded our expectations. It’s an incredible feeling each and every time we see the familiar faces of our “Regulars” or when our out-of-town guests relay that they heard we make great pizza and couldn’t wait to check us out.  It sure makes all the long shifts worth it!

Gotta give a shout out to our Crew-you all Rock! Thank you for helping us make Pizza for the People! Brian and I couldn’t do this without the help of our amazing family and friends who support us and help us to care for our son during this busy time-THANK YOU!

Summer on!

It’s Great to Be Back!

Now serving beer and wine!

We are so pleased at the turnout during our first month and a half back in business.  It will take a little while to get all the kinks worked out, the art up, and the really in the zone, but the learning has been a lot fun so far.

The open line creates transparency with the food and the cook, while allowing interaction and entertainment at the same time.  It is a pleasure to cook for you!  It’s so nice to hear people laughing and having a good time while they eat, food brings people together….

Our to-go business is surprisingly steady, and we appreciate your patience on our busy nights.  We try to make each order as it was received, and we want your food to be as hot and fresh as possible…

The new facility provides the opportunity to make food for large groups, and people have been taking advantage!  It was fun to prepare food for two groups of 50 people each, but if you have a smaller party you’d like to have some delicious pasta, salad, garlic knots, wings, pizza, and dessert for, give us a call and we can provide you with a list of tasty options kids and adults are sure to love.

Watching the World Series on TV this year with beer and wine available at Harborside was a highlight for the customers and ourselves alike.  It was amazing to hear the oooohs and ahhhhhhs as the Cubs made history…we have worked hard to get to where we are now, like the Cubs, and it was awesome to celebrate with our amazing friends and customers…

As for beer, the Baranoff Island Brewing Company’s Spruce Tip Ale is a favorite.  Twister Creek IPA by Denali Brewing is also popular, as is the Fresh Squeezed IPA by Deschuttes.  Come in soon for Jubleale or a nice Medevije Stout…we also serve domestic beer in the bottle and have a variety of cans.

The Prophecy Red is a California Pinot Noir that has become our house red…it has a great flavor that compliments our menu well.  The Prophecy White is a Savignon Blanc from New Zealand that is refreshing and easy to sip.

We greatly appreciate your support over the last 10 years in becoming established as a community pizza place…we hope to continue to provide good food and service, and look forward to serving you soon!

Pizzaman Down…Temporarily

Well Folks, I am sorry to report, that our humble Pizzaman is temporarily out of commission due to an injury.  We’re headed up to Anchorage next week to meet with our “knee guy” and see what we can do to get Brian all fixed up so he can get back on his feet ASAP-there’s so much good to come in the next few months!

We apologize for this unexpected closure and appreciate your support and patience-we’ll get back to “Open” just as soon as we can.

Happy Iceworm!

Harborside Pizza was featured on The Travel Channel’s Only Happens in: Alaska! Please enjoy and share!

If you would had asked me 10 years ago if I thought I’d be making pizza in Alaska for a living, I probably would have said no.  But, it’s been such an amazing adventure and getting on TV with the dogs was really a special treat, it really highlights how unique Harborside Pizza really is.  We are still working hard to bring you a sit down place, so keep your eyes peeled this spring.  We hope to serve you again soon!  Right now we’re open from 11am till 7pm Tuesday through Saturday, so stop in if you can.  Thank you for helping us realize the dream of starting a business from scratch, surviving the economy in 2008, surviving City Council in 2010, surviving snowpocalypse in 2012, and helping us expand our family, feel welcomed and appreciated, and making 2014 a great year.  We are really excited to reach our full potential and bring you delicious, hot, food fast, with a beer, or wine, at a table…with chairs…and a view…
